Biography
Joanne is a clinical pharmacist and Certified Geriatric Pharmacist working as a Clinical Services Specialist for NPS MedicineWise in Melbourne and Gippsland, Victoria. She has a background in hospital pharmacy having worked in hospitals across Gippsland in Victoria, in Darwin, Northern Sydney and London. She also has experience in Medicines Information and Pharmacovigilance within the Pharmaceutical Industry in UK and Australia. Joanne has completed postgraduate studies in geriatric disease and medication management and a Master of Public Health specialising in Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
In her work for NPS MedicineWise Joanne champions evidence based health care – promoting quality use of medicines and medical tests to doctors, nurses and pharmacists in primary care. Her interest lies in chronic disease management, specifically diabetes, cardiovascular disease and geriatrics. Alongside her work for NPS MedicineWise, Joanne also tutors Monash Postgraduate students on Evidenced Based Practice and tutors Monash School of Rural Health Medical Students in Gippsland during their General Practice clinical placements.

Biography
Sue McCallum is a Clinical Improvement Coordinator at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She joined the Clinical Improvement team in 2016 tasked with expanding the hospital’s telehealth strategy. A key project to date is the implementation of 15 eyeConnect asynchronous telemedicine devices in Victorian outer metropolitan, rural and regional hospitals.
Sue has a background in critical care nursing, clinical, product and capital project management, and enjoys the challenge of finding a way forward in new and unchartered services.

Biography
Dr Peta Ann Teague BA(Hons), MBChb, DRCOG, MRCGP, Dip Med Ed, FRACGP
Dr Teague completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town where she graduated in 1989. She undertook her medical Post Graduate Training in the UK and worked there for several years before relocating to Townsville with her family in 2004. She works part time at JCUHealth where she has been since 2004. Peta-Ann is an Associate Professor at James Cook University School of Medicine and Dentistry where she works as Director of Generalist Medical Training. Her clinical interests include all aspects of Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Weight Management and Nutrition.

Biography
Dr Marlene Tham MBBS FRACGP is a Fellow of the RACGP (2006). Her interests include weight management, metabolic syndrome, preventative health and mental illness. Dr Tham runs Melbourne Weight Loss at Epworth Camberwell providing a medical weight loss service. She co-ordinates multi-disciplinary weight management programs for people both with mental illness and those with significant co-morbidities such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and osteoarthritis
She has recently launched Medical & Mind Weight Loss (www.medicalmindweightloss.com) which is a 10 module online CBT Weight Loss program for those who live remotely or want to address their weight gain online.
Dr Tham started her work in Melbourne at the Metabolic Clinic at the Royal Melbourne Hospital which was the first public outpatient weight management clinic in Victoria. Her academic work includes working with Professor David Castle at the Mental Health Research Institute (MHRI) examining the impact of psychotropics on weight gain which was published in the International Journal of Mental Health. In 2005, she was an academic fellow under Professor Doris Young at the University of Melbourne where her study, “The role of the General Practitioner in weight management in primary care” won numerous prizes including best presenter as the General Practice and Primary Health Care Conference in 2006 and the GP register research prize. In 2007, Dr Tham was a recipient of the prestigious City of Melbourne Small Business Grant, where she was given funds to set up the Redefine™ Programme which now forms the basis on the new online program
Dr. Tham has worked in both country and metro general practice before moving into full time weight management five years ago. Her goal is to reach as many people as she can in their journey healthy weight loss with the aim of giving them lifelong lifestyle changes.

Biography
John van Bockxmeer is a FACRRM working full time for the WA Country Health Service as an Emergency Department doctor John is dedicated to improving the health of all Australians. For over ten years hehas led numerous voluntary local, national and international initiatives representing excellence in the fields of medicine and community development. Through his charity Fair Game he helps mentor and foster positive change in remote communities through the donation of recycled sports equipment. The group has donated over 25,000 items of pre-loved equipment and has grown to more than 190 volunteers in hubs across Australia.
John has an interest in patient safety and quality and is involved with a number of initiatives with WACHS. He is the regional clinical sepsis lead and has been influential introducing a new management pathways for clinicians. John is also passionate about ensuring health systems and processes are streamlined and best practice.
