Dr Robyn Laurie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1993, equal second in her year. Whilst studying she was awarded the Child Growth and Development Prize in Paediatrics, the Ramsay Prize in Microbiology (1989) and Prosector of Anatomy (1989). Dr Laurie started work at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne as an RMO before beginning her Anatomical Pathology training at the Western Hospital in 1996. She obtained further training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Mercy Hospital for Women, The Northern Hospital and Dorevitch Pathology, before obtaining her Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia in 2003. During her Anatomical Pathology training, Dr Laurie also won the Eddie Hirst prize for Pathological Sciences (1997). She started work for Dorevitch Pathology as a registrar in 1998, later became a Consultant Anatomical Pathologist and is currently acting Head of Anatomical Pathology. Dr Laurie is on the RCPA QAP committee for Gastrointestinal pathology and a part of the Editorial Committee for the online publication of the College “ePathway”. Her special interests are gastrointestinal and lymphoid pathology
