ACRRM as a College has led discourse supporting the Rural Generalist Medicine specialised field in General Practice since its foundation as a College. ACRRM is a signatory to the Collingrove Agreement; specifically endorsing: ‘A Rural Generalist is a medical practitioner who is trained to meet the specific current and future healthcare needs of Australian rural and remote communities, in a sustainable and cost-effective way by providing both comprehensive general practice and emergency care and required components of other medical specialist care in hospital and/or community settings as part of a rural healthcare team.’ Considering the above, outline your understanding of the scope of practice you may require to be a Rural Generalist serving the diverse needs of your future community.

Beyond clinical skills, what personal characteristics do you believe are essential for success in rural or remote practice? How do you embody these characteristics, and how will they contribute to your effectiveness as a Rural Generalist?

What is your understanding of the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and what strategies do you believe are crucial to contributing to Closing the Gap in health outcomes?

Why is attendance at RMA25 in Boorloo (Perth) important to you?
