The Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway is Australia’s longest established rural generalist pathway. More than 300 fellows have completed training to date and 333 trainees and fellows are working in Modified Monash Model (MMM) 4+ locations in 2025.
This presentation will discuss the Program's founding principles and key Pathway quantitative data. Attendees will be invited to consider and provide feedback on contemporary principles and priorities for rural generalist training developed from a recent statewide strategic stakeholder forum.

Biography
Dr Prue Wallin is the Medical Director of the Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway. She is a Pathway alumna and practising Rural Generalist who has spent more than 15 years working in rural and remote north Queensland, most recently as the sole medical officer on Badu Island in the Torres Strait. She is passionate about supporting and growing our rural generalist workforce and maintaining the core primary care and generalist nature of our profession.
