Biography

Dr Greg Coates is a RG anaesthetist working exclusively in the “rural fringe” of Melbourne. Graduating in 1989 from Monash University, he has worked in diverse locations including Christmas Island, Port Hedland, Stawell, Darwin, Cairns, Fiji, Samoa and the UK. Dr Coates has now provided anaesthetic services at Bacchus Marsh Hospital for 23years. He is also the Clinical Lead for RG anaesthetic training with the Victorian Rural Generalist Program (VRGP). He is a passionate educator and is involved in the training and mentoring of the next generation RG Anaesthetists. He also striving to build a strong network on social media to bring together RGAs across the country. Married to Yael, and father of 23yr old Noa, Dr Coates lives in Woodend on an intensively cultivated acre block overlooking Mt Macedon.
