The essential checklist to prepare for life as a rural/remote doctor.
Abstract Overview
Ok you have decided to be a rural doctor, you have chosen your training path, or maybe going rural is on the future career options list.
The training and the job are very important, but there are many other things you need to get organised in preparation for an amazing experience as a doctor working in a rural or remote community. We have a list:
Personal Finances -
Insurances - medical indemnity, income protection, health insurance: like how many and which ones do I really need?
Investments - I haven't even got there yet and I need to prepare for life after rural?
Family and social supports - where can I find them?
