The peak national event for rural doctors

Rural Medicine Australia 2016 (RMA16) is the annual conference and scientific forum of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA).

The event is to be held from Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 October 2016 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, ACT.

Pre and post conference full day clinical workshops are offered in affiliation with the event.

The most engaging medical conference

Our conference is unique in terms of the program presented but most of all through the delegates and audience it attracts - a diverse, welcoming, collaborative community of rural doctors, junior doctors, students, educators, academics and other medical professionals passionate about rural generalist medicine and the communities it serves.

For delegates

The event attracts over 700 healthcare professionals each year, and is now established as the peak national event for rural doctors.

The diverse program will cater for the wide ranging interests and needs of delegates including professional development workshops, interesting keynote speakers, policy discussions, political forums, research presentations, and plenty of opportunities for networking and social interaction.

For sponsors and trade exhibitors

The event offers relevant organisations an opportunity to raise their profile, promote their work, brand and/or product to a national audience of healthcare professionals, quality improvement experts, and key decision and policy makers in rural medicine.

Sponsorship and exhibition packages have been carefully designed to provide an opportunity for organisations to:

  • promote and showcase products and services
  • build relationships with key stakeholders
  • expand brand awareness and generate sales leads
  • engage with a predominantly rural based audience

Please email Maggie Bryan at to find out about securing a sponsorship opportunity.
