Theme Facilitator : Professor Richard Murray, RDAA Board and ex ACRRM President : Theme Overview : What are the Key issues and opportunities arising from National Reform Agenda and Consultations, which impact rural and remote practice? ................ 1/ Facilitated by Prof Richard Murray, ACRRM President , Prof Lucie Walters and RDAA President, Prof Dennis Pashen present : Key issues arising from new policies and reform relevant to chronic disease management in rural practice; 2/ Dr Steve Hambleton, Dr McPhee, Dr John Hall, Paul Madden, Wendy Southern and Mark Booth discuss: • Primary care reform - How do we ensure quality practice and better outcomes for patients? • Financing - MBS review, blended payments, Incentives (PIP, SIP, MMM, etc) - How do we avoid the ‘gaming’ and perverse outcomes which can be associated with the MBS; • Workforce and Quality and safety, chronic conditions strategy framework, mental health plan, diabetes and asthma strategy and CQI. How do we establish and support the medical workforce that the bush needs; • eHealth reform (My Health Record and Telehealth) ; Question Time 10 minutes
