This workshop aims to improve professional levels of understanding and confidence in the area of fetal surveillance, thereby reducing the risks of adverse perinatal outcomes. Content will include the physiology of fetal heart rate control; response to hypoxis, the normal and abnormal CTG (with emphasis on the physiology and management of the abnormal CTG); maternal heart rate monitoring and the complete clinical picture. The CTG component will work through various CTG traces with differing outcomes. An MCQ will complete the day. This workshop is accredited by RANZCOG for PD/CPD points in the Clinical Expertise category; RACGP QI&CPD Women's Health Points, and ACRRM PRPD and O&G MOPS points. Eligible participants are also able to claim against the Obstetrics component of the Procedural Grant.
