Details
In consideration of the ACRRM Advanced Specialised Training disciplines requiring registrars to do a summative project we understand it can be a daunting task to develop a project plan, develop or remember the research skills not used since University days and stick to task to complete the project in a timely manner while juggling learning, clinical and personal commitments during registrar training. This workshop aims to walk registrars embarking on a summative project through the process and provide them with a roadmap in consideration of ACRRM's expectations - we will support participants to do the following : • Use the literature to develop a feasible and meaningful question; • Develop feasible methods which will answer your question; • Consider the ethical issues associated with your project; • Consider where to find help to analyse your data and present your findings: Bring along your project or ideas for a project at whatever stage they are at. Participants will work in small groups using the Harvard step-back method to progress their work. This method involves presenting your research for 1-2 minutes and asking for help in one of the areas outlined above. Then you step back and let your group consider the issue and find solutions for you. We aim to ensure you will leave this Research intensive armed with new information and a clear plan for the next step for your research, audit or project of enquiry. Presenters : AProf Lucie Walters and AProf Pascale Dettwiller, Flinders Uni Rural Clinical School SA and NT.
