This session, suitable for Rural Medical Educators will discuss reasons why to teach agricultural health and medicine (AHM); focus on socio-economic reasons for AHM and issues related to health as identified by farmers and outlines the relationship of AHM to rural practice.
You will be informed on the QRME/Griffith models, learning objectives, logistics and evaluation of AHM teaching, learning and research :
- Rural and Agricultural Medicine symposium series (across 3 years of MD program);
- Agricultural community longitudinal integrated clerkships in years 3 and 4 of 4yr MD);
- AHM workshop for registrars;
- Farm day teaching and experiences;
- Agricultural Health and Medicine Research Group, Institute of Agriculture and the Environment, USQ – collaborative projects with Griffith and QRME.
