Details
Part 1 : An overview of the diverse environments where ACRRM registrars can train in order to gain skills for rural and remote practice. Presenters : Dr Sandra Mendel Director of Education & Lynn Saul Training & Assessment Manager. Part 2 : Beginning with a clear idea of the pathway to vocational registration in mind is important, not only to GP registrars and their training advisors, but also to supervisors who they spend most of their training time with. So how can supervisors support registrars throughout their training in a way that prepares them for their fellowship assessments from day 1? This session will be presented by experienced assessors. The session will explore the variety of assessment tools used by the college, the common challenges registrars face in passing, and how GP Supervisors can help set their registrars up for success. 5-10 Mins Q&A follows. Presenters: Presenters:
Dr Chris Carrol Principal Examiner ACRRM; Dr Peter Keppel, Assessor, ACRRM ME Bogong : Part 3 : With so much electronic noise (eNews, emails, phone calls, multiple online education platforms, popup advertising) many of us are becoming immune to key messages that really matter to what we do and how we do it. Couple this with a fiscal environment where finite resources prevent us from regular face to face meetings and it can be difficult to engage GP Supervisors effectively. This is likely to become worse for supervisors and the general population before it gets better. So how do we shift engagement with supervisors from deleting our messages with the shopping SPAM they receive, to engaging them in the new training environment? This session will also showcase a successful review and re-engagement of GP Supervisors in Queensland. Presenter Dr Konrad Kangru. 5 Mins Q&A follows.
