Wishing you had better media skills to assist you in getting your point across to the media — and through it, the public, politicians and other policy-makers? This workshop aims to help you to: • Prepare for and undertake media interviews – for TV, radio and print media. • Find out the different things that each medium needs from you. • Know what to do (and not do) during the interview itself. • Manage difficult media issues. • Generate media interest in an issue. • Write and issue a media release that will be noticed. • A key component of the workshop (for those who choose to accept it!) is the ability to undertake some mock TV interviews. Those who don’t want to do a mock interview but would like to attend the session just to watch the process are more than welcome to do just that. But for those who would like to try their hand at an interview, bring along your iPhone, iPad or similar device and we will record the interview for you, using your device as a quasi TV camera. And don’t worry, we start off gently!
